My brother has a job that he takes a lot of pride in. He works in Vancouver drilling. He started out working on the rig but he has since worked his way up in the company. There are several different drilling contractors that he could have worked for and he is convinced that he works for the best one. He is proud of what he does, without people like my brother we would not have any heat in our house because we have an oil furnace. We would not get able to get anywhere because there would be no gas for the cars. It is an important industry.
I have a son who is 16 and he really looks up to his uncle. He says that he wants to go into Vancouver drilling as well. Even though he is still young he knows quite a bit about what the job would entail. He is strong, he is already an athlete so I know that he could handle the physical part of the job. He says that when he is old enough he is going to work for the same company that my brother works for. I have no doubt that it will happen.
